AKTH records highest number of fellows in pharmacy across the country – official

The Secretary of all Fellows, West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacist (WACP) Kano State branch, Tinu Uloko said Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital as the highest number of fellows in Pharmacy profession in Nigeria.

KANO FOCUS reports that Uloko who doubles as In-charge of In-patient Pharmacy in the hospital revealed this

during an induction of thirteen new interns and staff organized by the Pharmacy Department.

She said, the development is due to the support and encouragement given by the Hospital Management.

Uloko added that Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital being a Tertiary Health Institution and a referral center plays a vital role in training students and Interns who assist in managing patients.

Speaking, the Head of Pharmacy Department, Habibu Uba Ringim welcomed the new interns and urged them to be professionally competent, trustworthy and abide by the civil service rules in the discharge of their duties to enable them take the department to a greater height.

In another development, the students of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bayero University Kano will conduct their clerkship training at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

This followed a request made by a delegation of faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Bayero University Kano to AKTH.

The Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Bayero University Kano Sani Malami emphasized on the importance of clerkship training as a means of providing real time exposure to pharmaceutical care.
