Fitilar Jama’ar Kano appreciates N-Power beneficiaries, others for purchasing governorship nomination form for Sha’aban Sharada

Fitilar Jama’ar Kano, a non-governmental organisation committed to identifying credible leaders to encourage them in their bid to provide quality leadership, wishes to congratulate the people of Kano on the successful completion of the Ramadan fasting which ushers in the Eidel-Fitr, a moment of devotion, sober reflection, love, sharing and sacrifice.
KANO FOCUS reports that the organisation calls on the people of Kano particularly, the youth, irrespective of political affiliation to celebrate Sallah peacefully devoid of rancour and acrimony, and ignore selfish politicians bent on using them to cause mayhem in our dear state.
The Executive Director of the organisation, Khalifa Mustapha Dankade, on behalf of Directors and entire coordinators of Fitilar Jihar Kano from the 44 Local Government Councils of Kano State is following with keen interest the political developments in the state where a champion of politics without bitterness and violence-free politicking, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada has enjoyed the goodwill and solidarity of some patriotic groups and individuals from within and outside the state who came together to purchase an expression of interest and nomination forms for the youth ambassador, Member, representing Kano Municipal federal Constituency, Chairman, House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, and President General, Network of African Parliamentarians for Defence and Security Committees, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada.
A statement sent to KANO FOCUS by the Director civic engagement of the organisation Mansur Kurugu said “going by Sharada’s track records and antecedents, rising from a journalist to PA to the President and Member of the House of Representatives coupled with the massive achievements he has made and the lives he has impacted within six years despite all the distractions and obstacles from the serving government of the state, we are optimistic that if he emerges the candidate of the APC in the Kano State governorship election, he will defeat all the contestants hands down and make Kano proud and great again.
“This gesture is as a result of his dogged determination and commitment towards fighting for the rights of the less privileged, empowerment through skill acquisition programmes, issuance of capital and provision of job opportunities at the federal level.
“Others are: healthcare support programs for the people, infrastructure and educational support programs for our children where 3 years ago, he sponsored about 100 children of the poor to study different courses at undergraduate level abroad.
Kurugu extended special thanks to the leadership of the beneficiaries of the N-Power programme, batch C from the 44 local governments of the state.
He recalled that “It was from the 24th April, 2022 that out of over 3,000 young men and women from the 44 Local Government Councils of Kano who benefited from Npower Program facilitated by Hon Sha’aban Sharada, under the auspices of ‘FitilarJama’ar Kano’ submitted their monetary contributions totalling ten million Naira (N10,000,000) where their leader, Malam Abba Garba said at least 2,000 of this number made a monthly contribution of 1,000 each which amounted to ten million Naira (N10,000,000), in appreciation of the gesture of the leader of Kano youths, Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, who they said he assisted them to get enlisted in the N-Power programme that earns them approximately one hundred million Naira monthly combined.
“Similarly, on Monday, 25th April, 2022, the Kano Elders’ Forum in support of the candidacy of Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada under the leadership of Alhaji Sani A. Sani presented a cheque in the sum of seventeen million Naira as their contribution. Also, on this day, a group of young Kano entrepreneurs in support of the candidacy of Hon. Sharada led by Alhaji Ibrahim Dan Fulani gave their own contribution amounting to four point five million Naira (N4,500,000).
“On Tuesday, 26th April, 2022, the Sharada Youth Progressive Association, under the leadership of Alhaji Idris Ali Sharada submitted a cheque in the sum of six million four hundred thousand Naira (N6,400,000). Also, a number of persons who wouldn’t want their names mentioned sent their contributions totalling three million Naira (N3,000,000) which brings the total amount realized to fifty one million four hundred thousand Naira (N51,400,000) Being that the money required for the purchase of the form is complete.

“Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada is fully ready to implement his plan (Kano Vision 2040) for a modern Kano and justify the confidence reposed in him by the good people of the state.”

SFH appoints Dayyabu Yusuf to lead strategic health partnerships, RevoHealth HMO

The Society for Family Health has appointed Dayyabu Mahmud Yusuf as Group Director, Impact Partnership and Engagement, as well as Managing Director of RevoHealth HMO Ltd., in a move aimed at strengthening healthcare access and sustainable health systems across Nigeria and Africa.
KANO FOCUS reports that the appointment was announced on the organisation’s official Facebook page on Saturday.
According to SFH, the new leadership appointment signals the beginning of a fresh phase focused on improving impact, expanding access to healthcare services, and advancing sustainable health transformation initiatives across the continent.
The organisation stated that the appointment reflects its commitment to building integrated health systems and promoting innovative platforms in healthcare financing, workforce development, advisory services, and sustainable health interventions.
SFH expressed confidence that Yusuf’s leadership would further strengthen the organisation’s impact and deliver lasting value to communities across Nigeria and beyond.
Yusuf is a seasoned public health professional with more than 18 years of experience in the design and implementation of public health, social marketing, and health systems strengthening programmes in Nigeria.
He is widely recognised as a health systems expert, health economist, programme management specialist, and community engagement practitioner, with extensive experience in reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH), HIV/AIDS, malaria, child survival, and nutrition interventions.
He has also built strong technical expertise across the family planning and maternal, newborn and child health continuum, while leading large and complex teams on multiple development programmes.
Yusuf possesses strong advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills, having worked closely with senior government officials, lawmakers, and influential traditional and religious leaders to drive institutional and behavioural changes that support effective programme implementation.
A seasoned trainer, Yusuf has trained various cadres of health professionals and is known for his practical expertise in participatory community engagement approaches.
He holds a degree in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Health Economics from Bayero University Kano, as well as an MSc in Microbiology from University of Abuja.

Kwankwaso commends IGP over probe into Dadiyata’s disappearance

A former Governor of Kano State Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for ordering a fresh investigation into the disappearance of activist and lecturer Abubakar Idris Dadiyata.
KANO FOCUS reports that Kwankwaso made the remarks in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Saturday following recent testimony by a former aide to an ex-state governor, who allegedly claimed that police officers were responsible for Dadiyata’s disappearance in Kaduna.
Dadiyata, a lecturer and social media commentator, was abducted in 2019, and his whereabouts have remained unknown since then.
According to Kwankwaso, he and his associates have consistently advocated for a thorough investigation into the incident and for those responsible to be brought to justice.
He described the Inspector-General’s directive for a comprehensive investigation as a “decisive and long-overdue action,” expressing hope that the process would uncover the truth behind the disappearance.
The former governor also urged police authorities to place individuals named in the allegations under close surveillance to prevent interference with the investigation.
Kwankwaso further called on the government to ensure that Dadiyata, if found alive, and his family receive adequate compensation for the trauma and hardship they have endured over the years.
He commended members of the public for sustaining advocacy efforts on the case and also praised Abba Hikima Fagge for what he described as his important role in the latest developments surrounding the investigation.
Kwankwaso expressed optimism that the renewed probe would ultimately deliver truth and justice in the case.

Dangote Refinery maintains ex-depot price of PMS

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited has announced that its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) remains unchanged, reaffirming its commitment to stability in Nigeria’s domestic energy market.
In a statement issued by Esan Sunday, Head of Media Relations, Branding and Communication, the company said sustaining the current price reflects its efforts to cushion the broader economy against external shocks. It noted that by absorbing prevailing cost pressures, the refinery is helping to moderate inflationary risks, promote energy affordability, and ensure uninterrupted fuel supply amid ongoing global uncertainties.
The company reiterated its dedication to the steady supply of high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market, while aligning with national objectives of price stability and energy security.
It also urged the public to rely solely on official communications from the refinery for accurate and up-to-date information regarding its operations and pricing.
