The National Leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum ( ACF) regarded its recent three- day working tour of Kano State as a “moment of unique glory and joy”.

KANO FOCUS reports that the National Chairman, Mr Mamman Mike Osuman made these assertions in a message of goodwill and appreciation addressed to the Kano State ACF Chairman, Goni Dr Faruk Umar on Wednesday.

This was contained in a statement issued by the publicity Secretary Bello Sani Galadanchi on Thursday.

Describing its Kano Chapter as a beacon of operational strategies worthy of being emulated by other branches in their catchment areas, ACF also vowed to ” stand tall and fill the blanks and gaps Northern Politicians skipped”.

Mr Osuman reaffirmed the determination of the current leadership to work assiduously not only to ensure the “resurgence of a blessed Northern Nigeria but also its immediate rebirth within the context of the dreams, vision and objectives of our past leaders who not only rendered unalloyed devotion, dedication and service to the Northern cause but sacrificed their lives”.

The ACF leader who termed the Kano chapter’s leadership style as “sterling, impressive and extraordinary ” also extended similar appreciation to the Chairman, ACF Select Committee, Retired Brigadier-General Halliru Akilu, the Deputy Chairman, Senator Ibrahim Ida, and Kano Entrepreneur, Alhaji Awwalu A Rano for their prominent roles in advancing ACF activities.

General Akilu has consistently supported ACF programmes at State and National levels, while A. A Rano and Wazirin Katsina, Senator Ida recently donated 37 million Naira and Ten million Naira respectively towards the realization of Kano ACF empowerment programmes.

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has with immediate effect dissolved the Interim Management Committees of the 44 local government areas of the State.

In a Statement issued by the governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa said the governor announced the dissolution of the Committes during a Valedictory meeting with members of the Committes at Africa House, Government House.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf appreciated the out-going Interim Management Committes members for their committement in steering affairs of the local governments for half a year and assisted the state government in the implementation of its policies and programmes at the grassroot level.

He assured that Kano State Government will continue to reckon with and carry them along in the state engagements for the benefit of people of Kano.

Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf directed the Interim management Committes to handover the affairs of their respective areas to Directors Personnel Management (DPMs) who will run the councils pending the local governments elections coming up on the 26th of October this year.

He called on the Directors Personnel Management to be transparent and adhere strictly to rules and regulations guiding their conducts as the overseers of local governments in the state.

Former Kano State Governor and Senator, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has voiced his disappointment and concern regarding the Federal Government’s approach to distributing rice palliatives in Kano State.

During a recent week-long visit to Kano, Senator Kwankwaso observed that while governors in 35 other states received the palliatives directly, Kano’s allocation was controversially handed over to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), sidestepping the state government entirely.

Senator Kwankwaso condemned this move as a blatant violation of constitutional principles, accusing the government of taking partisanship to an unacceptable level.

He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately suspend the distribution process and address the issue.

In addition, Senator Kwankwaso expressed concern over the frequent reshuffling of State Directors of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano, noting that three different directors had been posted and reposted within just two weeks, potentially jeopardizing the state’s security.
