Haske Applauds Tinubu for Peaceful Bye-Election in Adamawa

The Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) for the Adamawa by-Election, Abdulrahman Haske, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing strong leadership that supported the peaceful conduct of by-election which took place in Adamawa on Saturday.
Haske said the President has demonstrated that “he is not just a leader but a builder of future leaders, who is providing the enabling socio-political environment, through his exceptional leadership, in steering the affairs of APC structures at all levels and also the entire polity.”
Haske gave the commendation to the President on the side-line of the emergence of Hon. Misa Musa Jaura of APC was the winner of the by-election in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa, conducted to fill the vacancy in the state House of Assembly.
The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Returning Officer for the by-election, Prof. Tukur Ahmed declared Musa the winner, having scored a total of 16,923 to defeat his opponent from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Buba Muhammad Joda, who got 16,794 votes.
The election, which was closely contested, highlighted the vibrant democratic spirit of and the level of political awareness in the local government area.
“Under the leadership of the Youth Supervisory Committee, Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, and on behalf of the APC, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Misa Musa Jauro on his well-deserved victory.
“We express our deep gratitude to the people of Ganye Local Government for their enthusiastic participation in the electoral process,” Haske said, adding that the strong turnout and unwavering support by “the good people of Ganye LG area stand as a testament to the resilience and strength of democracy in our community.”
Haske also appreciated the leadership of the APC at the local, state, and federal level for its steadfast support and for entrusting him with the role of Chairman of the YAC during this by-election.
“My sincere appreciation goes to our party leader in Adamawa and National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and all other stakeholders in Adamawa State for their invaluable contributions throughout the process,” he added.
The YAC Chairman said the APC looks forward to working closely with Hon. Jauro to fulfil the party’s promises to the people of Ganye Local Government and to continue driving development across Adamawa State.

Cameroon telecom regulator visits NCC for benchmarking exercise

The Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (ART) of the Republic of Cameroon, Philemon Zoo Zame, on Wednesday visited the headquarters of the [Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in Abuja for a benchmarking exercise aimed at strengthening regulatory collaboration and knowledge sharing between both countries.
KANO FOCUS reports that during the visit, the Cameroonian telecom regulator met with the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NCC, Aminu Maida.
A statement issued by Ayiabari A. Kigbara, Manager, Media Relations, Public Affairs Department of the NCC, said the engagement focused on exchanging ideas and best practices in telecommunications regulation, with emphasis on enhancing efficiency and development within the sector.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited has announced that its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) remains unchanged, reaffirming its commitment to stability in Nigeria’s domestic energy market.
In a statement issued by Esan Sunday, Head of Media Relations, Branding and Communication, the company said sustaining the current price reflects its efforts to cushion the broader economy against external shocks. The company reiterated its dedication to the steady supply of high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market, while aligning with national objectives of price stability and energy security.

Tinubu congratulates Garo on appointment as Kano deputy governor

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo on his emergence as the Deputy Governor of Kano State following his swearing-in on Tuesday.
KANO FOCUS reports that Garo was sworn in by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after being nominated to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former deputy governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Garo’s appointment as a positive step toward strengthening unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.
The President noted that the 48-year-old politician has held several public offices, including Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the administration of former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. He also served as the APC governorship running mate in the 2023 general elections.
Tinubu commended Governor Yusuf for the appointment, urging political stakeholders in the state to rally behind the administration to ensure stability and progress.
He also called on the new deputy governor to work closely with the governor in delivering effective leadership and accelerating development in Kano State.
The President wished Garo success in his new role.
