Kano APC stakeholders push mass e-registration ahead of 2027 polls
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have called for massive participation in the ongoing electronic membership registration (e-registration) exercise, describing it as critical to securing a decisive victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
KANO FOCUS reports that the call was made on Tuesday at the end of a midnight marathon stakeholders’ meeting held in Kano, where party leaders resolved to intensify mobilisation efforts across the state to ensure that all eligible members are duly registered.
In a statement issued after the meeting by Comrade Muhammad Garba, Chief of Staff to the former APC National Chairman, the stakeholders stressed that the e-registration exercise is essential for building a comprehensive, credible and verifiable membership database capable of strengthening the party’s electoral performance at both state and national levels.
According to the statement, detailed briefings were presented by the Kano State APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, and the state e-registration coordinator and party Organising Secretary, Shafi’u Darma. The meeting resolved that, given the APC’s strong grassroots presence in Kano, party members must not only register but also actively encourage others to participate in the exercise.
The stakeholders noted that Kano’s effective engagement in the e-registration process would further consolidate the party’s dominance in the state, building on more than one and a half decades of loyalty, structure and organisational influence.
They emphasised that sustained mobilisation and accurate registration would strengthen the party’s internal structure, enhance voter outreach and maximise electoral performance ahead of the 2027 elections.
Participants at the meeting also urged members to remain united and to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which they described as central to Nigeria’s socio-economic development. They noted that political cohesion within the party is vital to achieving both party and national objectives.
In his remarks, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, called for peace, unity and mutual understanding within the APC, stressing that internal harmony was necessary for consolidating the party’s gains as the largest political organisation on the African continent.
The meeting was chaired by the party leader and former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. It was attended by several prominent party leaders, including Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila (Kano South); Hon. Kabir Abubakar Bichi; Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa; Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, the APC’s 2023 governorship and deputy governorship candidates.
Others in attendance included Ministers of State, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Housing Development) and Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure (Federal Capital Territory); former Deputy Governor and former Minister of Housing Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo; party elder, Alhaji Nasiru Aliko Koki; Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi; Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Hon. Baffa Babban Dan’Agundi; Arch. Aminu Dabo; Bashir Maisango, Deputy State Secretary; Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya; Hon. Ma’aruf Maiwake; Hon. Nasiru Aminu Bala Ja’oji; and Comrade Muhammad Garba.
The stakeholders also recommended the organisation of extended party meetings at ward, local government and state levels to further mobilise members on the e-registration exercise and other party activities, ensuring that no eligible member is left out.
The meeting ended with a renewed call for maximum participation in the e-registration exercise, with stakeholders expressing confidence that Kano State’s active involvement would set the pace for the APC nationwide and further position the party for victory in the 2027 general elections.

According to SFH, the new leadership appointment signals the beginning of a fresh phase focused on improving impact, expanding access to healthcare services, and advancing sustainable health transformation initiatives across the continent.
The organisation stated that the appointment reflects its commitment to building integrated health systems and promoting innovative platforms in healthcare financing, workforce development, advisory services, and sustainable health interventions.
SFH expressed confidence that Yusuf’s leadership would further strengthen the organisation’s impact and deliver lasting value to communities across Nigeria and beyond.
Yusuf is a seasoned public health professional with more than 18 years of experience in the design and implementation of public health, social marketing, and health systems strengthening programmes in Nigeria.
He is widely recognised as a health systems expert, health economist, programme management specialist, and community engagement practitioner, with extensive experience in reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH), HIV/AIDS, malaria, child survival, and nutrition interventions.
He has also built strong technical expertise across the family planning and maternal, newborn and child health continuum, while leading large and complex teams on multiple development programmes.
Yusuf possesses strong advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills, having worked closely with senior government officials, lawmakers, and influential traditional and religious leaders to drive institutional and behavioural changes that support effective programme implementation.
A seasoned trainer, Yusuf has trained various cadres of health professionals and is known for his practical expertise in participatory community engagement approaches.
He holds a degree in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Health Economics from Bayero University Kano, as well as an MSc in Microbiology from University of Abuja.

A former Governor of Kano State Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for ordering a fresh investigation into the disappearance of activist and lecturer Abubakar Idris Dadiyata.
KANO FOCUS reports that Kwankwaso made the remarks in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Saturday following recent testimony by a former aide to an ex-state governor, who allegedly claimed that police officers were responsible for Dadiyata’s disappearance in Kaduna.
Dadiyata, a lecturer and social media commentator, was abducted in 2019, and his whereabouts have remained unknown since then.
According to Kwankwaso, he and his associates have consistently advocated for a thorough investigation into the incident and for those responsible to be brought to justice.
He described the Inspector-General’s directive for a comprehensive investigation as a “decisive and long-overdue action,” expressing hope that the process would uncover the truth behind the disappearance.
The former governor also urged police authorities to place individuals named in the allegations under close surveillance to prevent interference with the investigation.
Kwankwaso further called on the government to ensure that Dadiyata, if found alive, and his family receive adequate compensation for the trauma and hardship they have endured over the years.
He commended members of the public for sustaining advocacy efforts on the case and also praised Abba Hikima Fagge for what he described as his important role in the latest developments surrounding the investigation.
Kwankwaso expressed optimism that the renewed probe would ultimately deliver truth and justice in the case.
