In order to curb the growing insecurity affecting many parts of the federation, the Kano state ADP Gubernatorial Candidate, Honorable Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada OON, said part of his blueprint for addressing insecurity is to create an identification number for every Kano resident.

KANO FOCUS reports that the governorship candidate dropped the hint while participating in an interactive session for Kano State 2023 Gubernatorial Candidates on Education, Health, Security, Infrastructure, Governance, Commerce and Industry, Agriculture, Environment, Women, Children, and Youth Development.

The interactive session, which was organized by a medical practitioner, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, in conjunction with civil society organizations and NGO’s, was an opportunity for the ADP Governorship candidate to showcase his blueprint to the general public on what he intends to do if he emerges as Governor of Kano State in the March 11th general elections.

The ADP governorship candidate said for insecurity to be a thing of the past, his government will synergize with critical stakeholders to identify and track every Kano resident.

According to him, this can be accomplished by collaborating with traditional rulers at the local level, which include ward heads, village heads, and district heads.

The ADP Governorship hopeful added that traditional rulers have the capacity to trace any individual and identify him, provided he is living within their domain.

“I will encourage community policing in collaboration with international and local partners, including security personnel, and at the same time create a Kano State Security Trust Fund to ensure adequate funding of security issues.”

Another brilliant submission made by the candidate that captivated the audience of technocrats and heads of civil society in attendance was his pledge to create a Kano state ministry for internal security that would coordinate intelligence gathering and partner with all heads of security agencies resident in Kano.

In a statement by ADP Gubernatorial Campaign Council Spokesperson Abbas Yushau Yusuf, the ADP candidate, who is currently a member of the House of Representatives for the Municipal Federal Constituency and chairman of the House committee on security and intelligence, said that in order to tame excessive leakage of government funds, he will abolish security votes, which are being used by the executive arm of government to siphon government funds.
